Welcome to Prairie Fire!

Wrapper on the home farm in Nebraska.
Prairie Fire lives on a large row crop farm in rural Wood River in the flats of Central Nebraska. While the farm consumes most of our Spring, Summer and Fall, we still manage to find time for the loves of our lives, our dogs.
Our dogs certainly live the "good life". All dogs live in our home and are a part of our family and everyday life. Each is considered first and foremost a "pet" and second as serving a purpose in our family.
I personally grew up raising dogs, as my family raised American Eskimo Dogs for many years. After all the Eskies were gone, we were a certified home for mutts! My love of Border Collies came after meeting one with the best personality and absolutely falling head over heals for her. Shortly after, I adopted my first rescue dog and the rest is all history!
Today, you might see our dogs doing anything from rally to herding to the conformation ring and everything in between! They are all good all-around dogs that will get just about any job done.
I currently sit on the Grand Island Kennel Club's (all breed) Board of Directors, serving as Vice-President and actively teach classes for the Club. I have served a two year term (2013 and 2014) chairing the Border Collie Society of America's National Specialty. I loved the time spent chairing and am grateful for the wonderful opportunities it gave me. I am currently serving as the Border Collie Society of America's public relations committee. I am thoroughly enjoy the opportunities to support both my home all breed club and my parent club. I am recognized by AKC as a Breeder of Merit and am fully committed to smartly breeding healthy dogs.
Please come on in and "sit" a spell. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us. We love to share our dog story as well as answering any questions that you might have about the breed, showing or herding. Happy dog tracks and I look forward to meeting you down the road somewhere!
